I heard it on the radio here recently; sometimes they play older songs here. It's probably kind of strange, but at least not everything here has some horrible pun attached to it, right?

Makes me wonder more about multiverse theory than anything else, actually. Like, what kind of things happened that split this universe off from ours? What shit's still the same? Songs and books and all I get, but also maybe places and historical events. Is there some kind of Ur-Universe that all the other worlds come off from like a template?

But that's only if split timelines are even how it works here, I don't know.

There are a few people here from my world-- people that I know, anyway, and I know not all of us remember the same things.

Maybe that's connected? There's some sort of original world, and then it branches off into many different directions.

[Admittedly, this is way over his head; he's not nearly educated enough to really talk about this intelligently, but damn if he won't try.]

It's more like.... one of us doesn't remember events that have happened yet; from their point of view, they haven't occurred at all.

Hmm. If it's like that, it sounds more like you probably came from the same timeline but from different times, but I guess it's sort of impossible to tell without those later points of comparison that situation obviously can't give you.

Guess you'll only be able to find out if that person goes back and then comes back here from later.

Maybe it's better if no one goes back. After all, this place has enough strangeness that goes on in it without people suddenly having confusing memories.
